The ageing vehicle that the Ponting Family relied upon was no longer suitable for the numerous medical and therapy appointments required by the youngest daughter who is diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome (catastrophic epilepsy). Mum, Rebecca is constantly on call to ensure her daughter receives the medical attention when required.
WA Charity Direct assisted by providing the funds to purchase a reliable second hand vehicle.
The Ponting family are grateful for the help with this message:
“Thank you to everyone involved for providing us with a reliable secondhand vehicle, it will change our lives! It will be such a relief knowing I can take my daughter to hospital and appointments without my car breaking down or finding another to borrow. Please pass on my sincere appreciation to everyone involved who took the time to review my application and provide the financial assistance, I am forever grateful”. Ponting Family, 2016.
Reflections Through Reality (RTR) is a not-for-profit charity that was established in mid 2015. The Foundation’s primary purpose is the supporting and advancing research into a cure for mesothelioma, whilst raising awareness and providing support to the sufferers of this terminal disease. WA Charity Direct was pleased to support the good work of RTR with a donation to assist with the progress of the Foundation.
Barry Knowles – a Mesothelioma survivor, has defied the odds after he was told in 2010 that he had 12 months to live. Today Barry today is author of Reflections Through Reality book and board member of RTR Foundation.
